Eldingar Ceremonial Battle Ax

Eldingar Ceremonial Battle Ax

Sorry, this item has sold.

During the height of conquest and exploration, a young king heard rumor of a skilled blacksmith deep in the Carpathian mountains whose blades were said to imbue magic upon the powerful enough to wield them. The young king became obsessed with the desire to hoist one such blade in battle, and spent decades searching for this fabled metal worker. His search parties scoured every mountain. They questioned every village. They returned defeated...save one.

The king was presented a battle ax richly adorned with intricate enchantments and attached to a handle bearing the carving of a wolf. Years of prosperity and victory followed, but the king could not be satiated. His ambition tore at the very seams that held his rule together, and the nation ignited war after war. His own subjects revolted at the incessant needs of their king. The very General that had brought him the ax led a contingent against him. As the broken king labored through his last breaths, the once loyal General knelt over him.

"How could you defeat me?" the king whispered in sorrow, glancing at the powerful ax at this side.
Silently, the General watched as the light faded in the king's eyes, and stood to leave. In the flickering light of the torches, a piece of carved wood could just be seen beneath the folds of his heavy cloak. "You are an old fool," he whispered. "There was never only one..."

With a powerful stature at 20" long with a 7.5x7.5" blade, this ax is an intricate work of art for display or carry. This ax was entirely hand made and will surely be the highlight of any collection. Can you use it to chop wood? Yes, it is a fully functional ax. But that would surely have the king come back to haunt you...out of sheer disappointment.

Disclaimer: This is a real ax with a sharp blade. Watch your fingers when you're chopping the cake for your kid's birthday party. You assume all responsibility for safe use upon receipt.

BLADE CARE:
1085 high carbon is great at holding an edge, but will rust and stain if not taken care of properly. Please clean and dry your blade after use, and apply a light coat of oil (gun oil, coconut oil, canola...almost any clear oil) in order to protect the blade and add longevity.

    Care instructions

1085 high carbon and damascus steel will hold an edge very well, but they are not stainless steel. It may take on color with lots of use, and should be dried and oiled, if possible, to prevent rust. If you do get some rust, I prefer giving it a quick rub with a very fine (0000) steel wool and it usually easily takes care of it without scratching the metal.

You can use WD40 or rust remover, just be sure to clean the blade thoroughly before use, especially if using it for food.

The key is keeping it dry. Any moisture that sits on the metal will cause rust. That being said, I've had some in my drawer for years with no issues!

I wouldn't go chipping away at rocks, but they're pretty tough and should last you a long time!

    Wedding Party / Corporate Gifts

Everything you see in the listings is in stock, but we may not have the quantity you need. Send me a note with any questions.

    For large custom orders:
These are usually orders of 10+, and you can go full custom. We can do almost any amount given enough time.

You can engrave names or logos on the handles. You can replace my AIM logo with your own etched into the blade, or we can make a custom metal stamp of your logo for the leather sheaths.

Just remember, these are custom made and hand crafted, so we need months, not weeks. The more customized, the more time we need! They look ridiculously awesome, so bring it on!

    Custom and personalized orders

    Yes.

Oh, you want to know more? Just send me a note to discuss your ideas!

    Notes:
-ENGRAVING goes on the wood handles. It's a laser engraver, so burning the image in. It can do fairly detailed images, even your drawn pictures and handwriting. Be creative! Engraving has a quick turn around.

-ETCHING goes on the metal. It looks great on the polished metal, but can be hard to see on the damascus. This needs to be less detailed. Think words, numbers, basic designs. WE ONLY DO THIS FOR LARGE ORDERS (10+). This takes time.

We will do full custom jobs for larger orders, including blade designs, handle materials, custom deep etched logos (instead of the AIM), custom leather stamps on the sheath, etc. Your gifts can be awesome!
